Each year, more than 100 fatalities and 94,000 forklift-related injuries are
reported in the United States. This has long been recognized as a serious problem,
and the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) has completed its
revision of the standard to assist in improving legal requirements for operator training.
OSHA Standard 1910.178 provides the occupational safety and health standards for
materials handling and storage as they pertain to powered industrial trucks. For a
