A Bigger and Better Family
Toyota's commitment to quality, performance and customer service has paid off
with phenomenal success. One in every five lift trucks sold around the world is
a Toyota.
And with a diverse and expanding line of advanced, electric-powered and
internal-combustion engine lift trucks, Toyota has more ways than ever to meet
a company's material handling needs.
Expanding U.S. Presence
Not only is Toyota's line
of equipment continually expanding, but our manufacturing capability, sales,
parts and service support and dealer network are all growing strong.
Since 1990, the Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing (TIEM) plant in Columbus, Ind.,
has produced more than 250,000 units. With the opening of the Toyota National Customer
Center in 2005, the TIEM campus now totals 859,000 square feet and represents an investment
of more than $111 million. TIEM employs more than 800 associates and is responsible for
manufacturing the majority of Toyota’s lift trucks sold in the United States, the most
durable and most popular lift trucks in the industry.
Working partnerships with domestic suppliers allow Toyota to purchase
world-class quality parts from here in the U.S. Many parts that were once
imported are now sourced by U.S. vendors. Our sales and aftermarket specialists
team up with an elite group of highly qualified dealers to deliver product
support that's worthy of the Toyota name.

Road Technician and In–Shop Positions Available
As a Toyota lift truck service technician, you have the chance to work in-shop
- or travel to your customers' onsite locations. This option makes the work
exciting, interesting and challenging. More than that, it allows - and rewards
- the use of a wide variety of skills in mechanical repair, sales promotion and
customer relations.
With superior training and support, Toyota lift truck technicians hone their
ability not only to service customers' equipment, but also to meet new people
and help them to improve the efficiency and performance of their equipment and
resolve equipment issues.
First–Class Benefits
Those people who have the requisite skills to become lift truck service
technicians are rewarded with first–class compensation packages. Well-trained
lift truck service technicians can – and regularly do – earn more than
automobile technicians, due to the overtime opportunities available.
Companies that sell Toyota lift trucks are generally well-established,
successful businesses. That means they are in the position to offer first–class
compensation packages – such as paid vacations and holidays, and health, dental
and disability insurance.
The rewards of being a lift truck service technician, of course, go beyond
monetary compensation. The work is varied, interesting and allows the exercise
of different talents.
Opportunity for Advancement
Being a Toyota lift truck service technician is not a job – it's a career. And
as a career, it offers rewards commensurate to the skill you develop and energy
you invest.
Lift truck service technicians are specialists. Consequently, there's
great potential for advancement. Most lift truck dealerships promote from
within their own group of technicians. Selling or leasing this equipment and
servicing customers' needs requires proven technical knowledge and experience.
Road technicians spend all of their time in the field interacting with
customers. Therefore, those who develop good people skills are highly valued.
Ambitious technicians with good people skills have moved up to become branch
managers and even become vice president of operations in some dealerships. Most
important – your success and your future is in your hands.
